There is something rather special about summer in Lytham St Annes and this August, the town takes a nostalgic turn back in time as the much-loved Lytham 1940s Weekend returns on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th August.

A highlight of the Fylde Coast calendar, this free-to-attend event transforms Lytham into a vibrant celebration of wartime Britain, complete with vintage entertainment, military displays, live music and classic vehicles. Whether you are visiting for the day or planning a weekend by the coast, it promises a memorable experience for all ages.

What To Expect At Lytham’s 1940s Weekend

Taking place primarily on Lytham Green, the weekend offers a lively programme of entertainment from morning through to evening.

Visitors can enjoy:

  • Free live entertainment in the main marquee from 10am to 5pm

  • Wartime speeches from ‘Winston Churchill’

  • Performances from talented vintage singers

  • Historic military and civilian vehicle displays

  • Daily vehicle parades through Lytham town centre at 1:00pm

  • 1940s dancing, resident DJs and live music around Clifton Square

  • Streets dressed with bunting, sandbags and nostalgic wartime charm

Throughout the town, local businesses join in the celebrations, creating a wonderful atmosphere as visitors stroll between entertainment, cafés, shops and the seafront.
